A MARRICKVILLE man has been arrested over a string of armed hold-ups in hotels and clubs across Sydney.

The 41-year-old manwas arrested on Friday morning by Strike Force Leavenworth, which was established to investigate an armed robbery at a Paddington hotel on April 28.

Two men, one armed with a firearm, threatened a security guard and a staff member before stealing an amount of cash and fleeing, police said.

During the investigation police also uncovered alleged links with a number of armed robberies at bowling clubs in the Sydney area between July 14 and August 28, as well as the armed robbery of a man in a car park at Marrickville last year.

Police raided a Dulwich Hill home after the man's arrest, where a shortened firearm and other items were seized for forensic examination.

The man is facing 30 charges including 15 counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and two of motor vehicle theft.

He was remanded in custody yesterday after failing to apply for bail in Parramatta bail court. He will face Burwood Local Court on October 15.
